I really enjoy reading the posts appearing at this time of year, with all the quilts and projects online friends have finished, and the goals they have for the following year. I had
great plans for 2015 too, unfortunately I have been plagued with joint pain, making quilting especially very difficult, as I really like to work by hand! Once I stopped feeling sorry for myself, I gave myself permission to work on anything I felt like and it has been liberating! Embroidery has been my 2015 focus as I am still taking term time lessons, I really enjoy them and I have signed up to Easter. I find I can stitch embroidery much easier than I can hand quilt or appliqué.
This is my small list of finishes in 2015...
I don't have any real plans for next year, I need to take each day as it comes depending on my joints and general health. I would like to continue to hand quilt my
Welsh quilt when I can...
To work on my oldest WIP
'Remember When'
To make something with this wonderful collection of Liberty fabrics...
To finally decide on a setting for all my
Stonefields Blocks possibly using these Dutch fabrics...
A wonderful collections of projects to look forward to.
ReplyDeleteI hope things get better for you so you can tackle your many beautiful projects.
ReplyDeleteYou've achieved a LOT in 2015. The needle painted bird is stunning
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear of your diagnosis - but you have achieved so much! and such lovely projects too. The way I see my machine is that it is a tool to help when the hands can't (or won't) - and aren't we lucky to have such clever machines these days?! All the very best for the new year :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you're able to continue doing hand work as it's so beautiful and relaxing.:)
ReplyDeleteA little bit often will see your projects moving on the way you want. Take care.
ReplyDeleteI really sympathize with the joint pain and mine has only been eased by us moving to a tropical climate. Some lovely projects you have finished and still have in progress. Happy New Year
ReplyDeleteEverything is so beautiful! I have problems with joint pain as well. it really limits what I can do, like you. Such a pain, literally. But I'm glad we can both manage to work as we can. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteYour embroidery projects are beautiful! That is something I would like to get more into in the coming year. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteYes, it is fun to catch up on the end of year blogs and see what people over the past year and see what they hope to work on next year. Your embroidery work is always stunning and I hope you can continue to do some quilting and appliqué. I look forward to seeing your Stonefields come together. Wishing you all the best for 2016.
