Chester County Criswell Quilt

Sharon over at Two Bits Patches is reproducing the patterns from the fabulous Chester County Criswell Quilt which was made for the marriage of Mary McClellan Criswell to Jesse Jackson Smith on the 17th of November 1852. There is a dedicated blog for this project HERE

I have completed the first four blocks.

Pricilla Turner

  1. Oh my, a sister quilt of the Dear Jane, and Dear Hannah. Going to go check it out.

  2. Oh my gosh! What pretty blocks. I went and read up about the quilt, since I grew up just over the Delaware state line from Chester County. Lovely! I can't wait to see more.

  3. Your appliqué is exquisite. What method do you use

  4. Beautiful appliqued blocks, Elaine. I am a new follower - I just found your blog via Nicola's, thank you so much for your generous giving of a prize for Nicola's Scarlet Letter Year.

    hugs, Kaye

  5. I received the patterns but not started them as yet..will do in the new year...
