Washed and Delivered

I have finished the lap quilt I was making for my son and his girlfriend. It was a quick, easy pattern and the big stitch quilting went rapidly! I loved making it, it is has been washed and delivered and will be well used, as was my intention. I will definitely use big stitch quilting again, especially for gifts quilts, all the wonderful benefits of hand quilting in a fraction of the time I normally take!

A comparison with the Welsh Quilt which I am hand quilting, much bigger stitches and a lot faster!

  1. A lovely quilt, Elaine; a rhapsody in beautiful blues and lemons. I love the bigger stitching. What a lovely gift.

  4. It looks snug and warm Elaine and perfect to snuggle under when watching TV I'm doing big stitches at present, working on a quilt and doing sashiko on it, it's much like big quilting stitches. Cheers Glenda

  5. That big stitching (and the quilt!) looks fab! Isn't lovely to make quilts that you know are going to be well used?
Delightful stitching on the Welsh quilt, though!
